Fertilizer – R-WayAg Ltd.

R-Way Ag has been offering fertilizer to our producers since 2010. Complimented by R- soil testing services which allow the producer to understand what nutrients their soil is lacking based on a lab analysis and will help producer decide what nutrients their fields require to maximize their yields in the upcoming growing season.

R-Way Ag has two fertilizer facilities. Our main site is a new 2400 tonne facility where producers can pick up their custom blends and fertilizer purchases. Our producers can work together with our agronomists to create blends that will suite each of their fields.

Our second site (located in the town of St. Claude at the east end of main street on the south side of the CP railway line) is mainly used for our custom application services. You can contact our agronomists if you are interested in getting custom fertilizer applications.

There are four types of macronutrients available at R-WayAg:

  • Nitrogen (46-0-0) fertilizer is important to plant nutrition because it contains nitrates which are essential for making protein. If plants lack nitrate, they are weaker and smaller. On the other hand, if your soil has too much nitrogen nutrient, it weakens plants and they becomes more susceptible to the effects of frost and strong winds.
  • Phosphate (11-52-0) plays an important role in the development and growth of plant roots. With strong and healthy roots come healthier, darker plants. Phosphate also contributes to early plant growth.
  • Potash (0-0-60) helps plants with water retention and helps them become more resilient to drought conditions, making wilting a lesser threat. In food crop such as corn, it enhances the size and makes the crop grow more efficiently and firmly. Potash helps crops deal with environmental stresses like extreme temperatures. With the help of potash, plants also become more resistant to diseases and pests.
  • Sulfur (20.5-0-0-24) also helps with the production of stronger and greener plants, making them less susceptible to wilting and yellowing. Sulfur also lowers the pH of the soils, which is only necessary if your soils test too acidic. Lowering the pH level of your fields make it a better environment for crops that need alkaline soils to mature and produce.

R-Way Ag also offers a wide range of micronutrients. Contact our agronomists for information on micronutrients we have available and to help determine what nutrients your fields may require.
